Macklan Robert Clendenin is a dual-licensed stylist and barber with over two decades of experience behind the chair and in advanced education. A graduate of Paul Mitchell the School San Diego, Macklan’s career spans top-tier salons, national education platforms, and curriculum development for industry-leading institutions. His cutting expertise and passion for technical mastery have made him a sought-after educator and mentor across the U.S.
 

At the San Francisco Institute of Esthetics and Cosmetology, Macklan served as Cutting Specialist and later Barber Education Leader, where he built the entire barbering program from the ground up — a curriculum still in use today. He went on to become Director of Education at People’s Barber, designing a full in-house training system across multiple locations. He’s also educated nationally for René Furterer and served as a consultant for The Wall Street Journal, blending real-world relevance with elevated technique.
 

Now based in Brooklyn, Macklan is a Master Artist and Lead Cutting Educator at Rob Peetoom Williamsburg. He is the founder of M Education, a Mizutani-sponsored platform rooted in Passion, Dedication, and Discipline. With his signature cutting system, MECHANICS, Macklan continues to push the craft forward — bridging cosmetology and barbering through accessible, high-level education for professionals at every stage of their career.
